Let’s start with the features of the mouse.

The mouse is curious and bold by nature. It has physical characteristics different from the rat since it has a body of about 10cm (adult size), their ears are large and rounded and has a thin tail.

It is an animal that lives outdoors as in burrows but when autumn and winter come, mice look for a place to take refuge from the cold and they take advantage of it to reproduce and protect themselves from predators. They can enter your home through 60mm holes.

Most of the time, they move around at night because they don’t like bright lights. They eat plants and grains for food.

Next, the features of the rat.

The rat is rather cautious. Their body can be between 15 to 20cm, their ears are small, they have a bulging skull and a thick tail.

Rats prefer to live in sewers, attics or walls. It can enter your home through holes with a diameter of 1cm.

Its consumption is all types of food but has a preference for fresh meat and water.

Bonus difference: droppings.

Yes, if you don’t know what type of rodent you’re dealing with, you can tell by their droppings.

Mice produce small droppings (about 4mm) while rats produce larger droppings (about 1cm).
